Hugh launched Sponsorship Marketing Group, LLC in early 1999. Since then, he has grown the operation to include offices in Los Angeles, New York and Toronto. He has been successful in building a stellar reputation for the company, thereby attracting some of North America’s most prestigious properties and corporate accounts.
Before starting the company, Hugh spent over seven years as Senior Vice President of a major international entertainment company, where he was responsible for selling naming rights of theatrical venues; sponsorship of theatrical productions, educational programs and concert presentations; negotiation of official supplier agreements; and development and execution of promotional activity for productions worldwide.
Some of Hugh’s prior work included Expo 92, Seville; the 1988 Toronto World Economic Summit; 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics; the 1987 Commonwealth Heads of Government Summit in Vancouver; Expo 86, Vancouver; the 1986 Vancouver Centennial Celebrations; 1985 tour of Pope John Paul II, and the 1983 World University Games. Hugh graduated from UBC in Vancouver in 1980.
